The Change Management and Communications Consultant is responsible for developing and deploying effective communication plans across a team with more than 200 employees. This role is an integral part supporting transformation change adoption by consulting, creating and delivering communications messaging and materials.

 

Our work ensures Optum can deliver and meet customers’ expectations. This team has a variety of roles and functions that intertwine to ensure we deliver to our customers. We must be able to connect with each one to help them do their jobs better together.

 

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for writing messages and creating deliverables that communicate enterprise purpose, drive visibility and growth, and encourage action when needed
  • Self-directed development of and execution on project plans
  • Collaborate with others working on transformational projects to bring the work to life through development and delivery of dynamic, timely and engaging communications
  • Consults with leadership on team-wide communication strategy and messaging
  • Ensures effective and positive relationships across the team to drive issue resolution and preventative action
  • Define communication and change support strategies, playbooks, and execution plans for five common work functions across the team and for leadership communications
  • Create and maintain communication playbook for key business partner relationships
  • Facilitate and manage feedback loop; execute on outcomes
  • Govern to maintain use and execution alignment to UHG information management standards (e.g. Shared Drives, Teams, SharePoint)  
  • Routine updates on project status, risks, new work requests, and work prioritization

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years communications background
  • 3+ years of change management experience 
  • 2+ years of Project management experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Intermediate Visio skills

 

Soft Skills:

  • Agile, flexible, multi-tasker who enjoys complex challenges
  • Team player with proven ability to foster and manage working relationships in a highly matrixed environment
  • Superior collaboration and verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to, prioritize effectively and drive results with sense of urgency
